Biomedical Science is the study of the causes, diagnosis & treatment of human diseases, representing one of the most important areas of applied science. Students who choose this program will study biological aspects of medical science and explore concepts associated with areas of biomedicine, biomedical technology, veterinary, para-medical and other related sciences.
Students are introduced to biomedical and chemical science concepts and principles, with further study in areas such as human anatomy & physiology, cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology and human genetics.

Graduates have the expertise to enter a wide range of biomedical relevant employment fields. Employment opportunities exist in industrial science, the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries, hospitals, biomedical research, food industry, microbiological and medical diagnostics, agricultural industries, life sciences instrumentation industries, forensic science and government authorities.
